The inlaws came to town last weekend. I dig them, so it’s always a good thing. Late in the weekend, we all piled into the family truckster and made our way down to Coos Bay on the Southern Oregon Coast to visit more family.
Coos Bay comes with a disclaimer: This town subject to change. The same might be said for most towns, but the change underway in Coos Bay is one of lost economy, lost jobs, a lost way of life. Logging has left that place, and it has left it struggling for a new identity in this still fairly new millennium.
One area of downtown seems to have more businesses closed than it does open, and who will fill them?
