Stumbled upon (in the actual sense, not the web 2.0 widgety sense) Carmi Levy over at written inc. Apparently he’s deep into the throes of weekly themed photography dubbed (appropriately enough) Thematic Photographic. Each Wednesday he posts a new theme and then invites submissions. Carmi’s theme this week is “Signs.”
According to my calendar here in the NW, it’s still Wednesday. And on this Wednesday I happened to be out with my camera, wandering the streets of my neighborhood looking for things at which to point it. and it’s just my luck that I managed to capture three of the suckers during my amble. He’s right, they are everywhere.
All three are bright, colorful, and interesting to me in several or more ways, so I’ve decided to leave them colorized here. But I did phutz with those colors to make them make more sense.

Hi Stefan. I just followed your link back from my stats service, and wow am I glad I did. I love your approach to photography…looking at your pictures brings me the same kind of peace I derive from being behind the lens.
I can tell you love this. I can tell I’m going to love seeing more of your work, too.
Thanks for the kind words, Carmi. You’ll no doubt notice my affinity for the automobile, but I’ve discovered that intrigue lies everywhere, in everything.
I was shooting a car today near a wall covered in graffiti and found myself captivated by the trash and refuse of transients who had obviously stopped to sit at the base of this wall at some point. I’m so glad to have picked up a camera again.
